Her Husband Believed In Her Singing, So He Hid A Camera To Capture It. The Result Is Breathtaking

How would you react?

YouTuber Tj McConahay probably didn't expect to see a video he surreptitiously made of his wife Brittany go viral, but that's exactly what happened.

In McConahay's video description, he explains why he did it.

"I was listening to my wife play and sing last night. She is so talented and I knew I shouldn't be the only one to get to hear her play — so I hid a camera. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do."

Well, people did. In a big way.

In just one week, the video got nearly half a million views.

It's a dimly lit video of Brittany sitting in front of her laptop with her guitar, playing Vance Joy's "Riptide."  It's raw, stripped-down and deliciously elegant in its simplicity.

And luckily for Mr. McConahay, the video didn't land him in the dog house.

As it turns out, his wife used to write and perform in her college years in the mid-2000s. Sadly, medical problems brought that to an end.

"The reason she hasn't really performed in long time is because she developed vocal nodes several years ago," McConahay writes in the video description. "Since then, her confidence in her voice has been shot, only really singing in church. This post has been healing for her, and she is very thankful for all the positive posts — as am I."

The video has given her newfound confidence.

McConahay reports that his wife is steadily writing and working on new songs. Some of her older work can be found on her Soundcloud.

You tell us: Would you be angry if your spouse or significant other displayed one of your secret talents on the Internet? What if it brought you sudden fame? Would that make a difference?

We wish the McConahays all the best.
