Bride Goes Forward With Beautiful Wedding Photoshoot To Honor Her Late Fiance

Janine's fiance passed away 52 days before the wedding.

Fifty-two days before a wedding, most brides are finalizing or working out plans. 52 days before Janine's wedding, she faced an unbelievable tragedy: her fiance, John, passed away.

She never made it down the aisle, but she needed a way to free herself from the pain. With the help of Del Sol Photography, Janine planned a photoshoot to capture her freeing swim in Riviera Maya, Mexico — with her wedding dress on.

"I wanted to free myself from losing my fiance 52 days before we got married," she told Del Sol Photography in a video of her experience. "This dress was for him."

She and her photographer Matt decided that the shoot would be a metaphorical and physical liberation from her grief. And it was:

"At the end of the day I felt so accomplished and I felt more alive than I have ever felt since May 1st," she told Del Sol. "I really felt that Johnny was smiling down at me and finally giving me closure that I can live my life in a positive way, but never forgetting why I was here."
