This Couple's Breastfeeding Photo Shows Dads Can Have A Helpful Hand In The Process Too

"No bottles required to help with the feedings."

Fathers can help out with breastfeeding and this photo proves it. In a photo posted on the Facebook page Breastfeeding Mama Talk, Danielle Solito is publicly breastfeeding her daughter in a Target. Her husband, Jason, is right behind her pushing the cart Danielle is sitting in with her child.

"When you've been in the target toy section for 45 minutes with your 10-year-old birthday girl and the 15-month-old wants to nurse, you take their seat and nurse her while the hubs pushes you around," Solito captioned the photo.

The photo has amassed over 13,000 likes and has been shared over 740 times thus far. As with all viral public breastfeeding posts, the reaction has been mixed. There are tons of people shaming the mom for breastfeeding in public, while many other commenters are applauding Solito and her husband.

"Way to go mom but also way to go dad for his support in many ways. It takes a strong and secure man," one commenter wrote.

Some users shared personal stories of their own. One person commented, "I was in Target the other day and my little one was hungry so I started to nurse her and continue my shopping ... a woman walked up to me and said 'I just need to tell you that you are amazing.' It was just what I needed and put a smile on my face for the rest of my day."

Breastfeeding Mama Talk's founder Kristy Kemp has been posting comments on the photo responding to fellow users and explaining why she shared this photo.

"I love when moms share these kinds of photos/stories with us because it just goes to show that, yes, a dad can very much so be part of the feeding process even though their baby is breastfed. No bottles required to help with the feedings," she wrote.

Hopefully, viral photos like this one will open the discussion about breastfeeding in public and help keep moms from being shamed for doing something so natural
