Hang with a Robot on the Streets of Austin

Hit the streets of SXSW and you're bound to meet any number of interesting characters. The chatty Austin local, the listen-to-my-CD-rapper, the girl in the unicorn costume, the drunken foreigner, Mark Cuban, the list goes on and onBeam Robotics has added its name to this list by sending a fleet of robot brand ambassadors to Austin. Beam is a remote-user controlled 5' tall robot, whose face appears live streamed on a screen mounted to the simple base.

While they were unable to eat delicious BBQ, hop in an Uber, or show ID at the local dive bar, the robo-brand ambassadors nonetheless engaged, chatted with, and answered questions about the company, and were otherwise friendly and social with this year's SXSWesterners.

We're looking forward to seeing more of these little buddies out on the streets in the near future!
