Earlier this year, the Black Eyed Peas released an updated version of their 2003 hit "Where Is the Love?" The new recording and accompanying video featured dozens of musicians and other celebrities calling for an end to violence and hate. Proceeds from song downloads went to charity.

This month, the group remixed the song once again, this time in a Spanish-language version called "Dónde Está El Amor?" They premiered the track at the Mexican award show Premios de la Radio. Group members will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap performed with some of the many Latino artists featured on the song, including Becky G, Luis Coronel, Gerardo Ortiz, Larry Hernandez, Chiquis Rivera, and Joss Favela.

Earlier this week, the official music video was released, as directed by Michael Jurkovac. It features 59 stars who recorded in both Hollywood and Mexico, as well as a children's choir.

The song's Spanish lyrics, written by Edgar Cortázar, are intercut with some of the Black Eyed Peas' original English verses. In the same black-and-white style of the earlier video, this one focuses on issues such as immigration reform. The idea was part the Yo Soy El Voto (I Am the Vote) campaign from Estrella TV, owned by Liberman Broadcasting.

Gerardo Ortiz said of the song, via Billboard, "We want to send a positive message to the world. This song seeks to find something positive in the negative."

The song comes at a crucial time, following the election of Donald Trump as U.S. President. The music video features images of protesters speaking out against Trump's proposed policies, many of which have targeted Latinos. The message was important leading up to the election, and it's just as important (if not more so) moving forward.
