Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, And More Dress As Beyoncé In A Special Birthday Tribute

An iconic photo shoot from family and friends.

This Monday, September 4, marked Beyoncé's 36th birthday. Sweet messages poured in on social media throughout the day from fans and celebrities alike, but there was nothing quite like the tribute posted on Queen Bey's own website.

In a series of badass black-and-white portraits, several women in Beyoncé's life posed in the singer's iconic "Formation" outfit, their eyes obscured by the wide brims of their hats. Those featured in the photo shoot include family — her mother Tina Knowles Lawson, her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, her husband Jay-Z's mother Gloria Carter, and his grandmother Hattie White — and friends — Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, tennis star Serena Williams, and more.

But perhaps the most notable participant in the shoot is former First Lady Michelle Obama. As People points out, the two have been friends for years, as Beyoncé performed the national anthem at former President Barack Obama's 2013 inauguration and collaborated with the then-first lady on her Let's Move campaign

She also reportedly spent her last birthday at Camp David with Mrs. Obama and her daughters Malia and Sasha, as well as members of Beyoncé's own family.

You can see all the portraits on the singer's website, which also includes a link to her BeyGOOD Houston initiative, to aid her hometown after Hurricane Harvey. In association with Bread of Life, Greater Houston Community Foundation, and Texas Southern University, donations will help provide those affected by the storm with necessary items such as cots, feminine hygiene products, and diapers.

Beyoncé also received a special birthday tribute from husband Jay-Z, who took a moment from his set at the Made in America Festival on Sunday to ask the crowd to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. Fans captured Beyoncé's smiling reaction and shared the sweet video (above) on social media.
