Over the past few years, many a social-media-savvy couple has announced important life events from marriage proposals to births on Facebook. It's become so customary that most couples accompany their announcements with a professional photo shoot — for better or worse, till a power outage due you part.
But one woman, Benita Abraham, put a refreshingly independent twist on this social media tradition, turning it on its perfectly backlit head. In an engagement-style photo album, Abraham documented her epic love story.
"I finally found my soulmate, my perfect match, my boo," she wrote on her Facebook photo album. "After [seven] long months, I found the perfect job with a company that truly cares about its employees and one I will learn so much from."
While no one should underestimate the importance of having healthy and supportive interpersonal relationships, especially with a significant other, Abraham proves the most meaningful and fulfilling relationship should always be with yourself.
Titled #Employed, the album showcases all the romantic moments of dedication and determination Abraham has shared with her new company.
From that first phone interview to the day she said "YES!"...
... And every magical moment in between:
Abraham shows nothing's sweeter than being your awesome, independent, #EMPLOYED self.
Posted on Sunday, August 7, the album has since garnered over 4,000 likes. Of course, all those "likes" pale in comparison to the love between Abraham and her career aspirations. And that's exactly how it should be.
