Shy 12-Year-Old's 'Wicked' Performance Gets The Gold On 'Britain's Got Talent'

Little girl with a huge voice will be going straight to the semifinals.

Twelve-year-old Beau Dermott of Cheshire, England, set the bar as high as her vocal range earlier this week on the audition stage of Britain's Got Talent. As with last year's unexpectedly compelling audition by Calum Scott, the shy school girl turned in a performance that brought the audience to their feet in a roar of applause, wowing them with a cover of "Defying Gravity" from the Broadway smash Wicked.

The first few seconds were, as usual, greeted with skepticism by Simon Cowell.

But as soon as Dermott's voice reached the ears of the judges, everything changed.

Her performance earned her the Golden Buzzer from judge Amanda Holden ...

... which sent the overwhelmed young singer directly to the semifinals.
