Batman Might Die In The Third 'Arkham' Video Game

So this is how the Caped Crusader goes out.

Next to Superman, Batman is easily the biggest superhero in DC's arsenal. Given his success relative to Superman on the big screen with Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, you could actually make the argument that his draw is even larger than that of the Man of Steel. If the opening cinematic for the Batman: Arkham Knight video game is any indication, though, Batman's death is on the horizon.

The video starts out with Commissioner Gordon cremating one of Batman's most notable enemies, and in a voiceover he says, "This is how it happened. This is how the Batman died." It's hard to put an ambiguous spin on those words, but Batman has appeared to die several times in the DC universe, only to be revived or emerge otherwise by the end of a story.

There's also the caveat that Batman: Arkham Knight is a video game — film Batman will return to the screen next year in Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, portrayed by Ben Affleck. As for video game enthusiasts, Arkham Knight is set to release on June 23 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Check out the trailer here and savor the moments you have left with your favorite bat-centric superhero.
