Barack Obama Tried His Hand At A Joe Biden Meme For The Former VP's Birthday

He just couldn't resist.

Earlier this year, we learned that former Vice President Joe Biden is a fan of the famous memes that became popular on Twitter around the time of last year's election, inspired by his friendship with Barack Obama. As it turns out, the former president enjoys them as well — so much so that he created a new one for Biden's birthday.

On Monday afternoon, as Biden turned 75 years old, Obama tweeted an image of the former VP smiling and pointing behind him during a speech. "Joe, about halfway through the speech, I'm gonna wish you a happy birth--" Obama says in the photo's caption, before Biden interrupts him to loudly announce that it's his birthday.

Obama went on to call Biden "my brother and the best vice president anybody could have." Unsurprisingly, the tweet has already received over a million likes and hundreds of thousands of retweets. "I miss the Obama/Joe friendship memes so much it almost hurts," one user commented.

This latest birthday tweet brings to mind Biden's similarly silly message for Obama last year. The then-veep posted an image of two friendship bracelets, one reading "Joe" and the other reading "Barack." He called Obama "a brother to me, a best friend forever."

The Obama-Biden bromance has definitely captured America's hearts — from Obama's surprise presentation of the Medal of Freedom to Biden early this year, to the news that they're still just as friendly after leaving office.

Biden revealed just how deep their friendship really goes last month when he shared how Obama supported him during his son Beau's cancer battle, even offering to pay for treatment so he wouldn't have to sell his house.

He also addressed social media's obsession with their bond, saying, "I think the reason the memes worked is because no one has ever doubted the authenticity of the relationship."
