This Angelic 19-Year-Old Singer From Norway Will Put A Spell On You

She's making us daydream.

The world is full of young, emerging talent — some making big bucks playing in the world's largest arenas, others patiently waiting to be discovered through their YouTube channel.

As for Norway-based Aurora Aksnes, it's a little bit of both.

Until recently, Aksnes was just a 19-year-old singer from Bergen gradually gaining popularity on music blogs and SoundCloud. With an EP in her hands and a debut album on the way, you could say she already was a pretty accomplished young artist.

But one November morning, everything suddenly changed!

Aksnes was contacted by an ad agency and asked to record the soundtrack for John Lewis' 2015 Christmas commercial. The song in question was Oasis' B-side track "Half the World Away," written by Noel Gallagher in 1994.

After the ad racked up more than 19 million views on YouTube alone, everyone started gushing Aurora's name.

And not without a reason! Aurora's angelic voice and overall innocence make it simply impossible to stay untouched by her act — the best example being her live performance on the Norwegian talk show Lindmo, which you can see below.
