This isn't one of the hit show's dream sequences.
Fox announced its exciting plan to air a "That '70s Show" reunion special as a 6 episode event this summer. The period sitcom set in the '70s was a fan favorite for 9 years before its series finale in 2006.
Since then, it has developed a cult following which launched a recent social media campaign to bring the show back. Fox executives must have been listening because...
The retro-hip comedy is back.
On the heels of the network's decision to bring back the "X-Files," FOX decided to use the same 6 episode model for "That '70s Show."
The kicker? This new season is set to take place in the '90s.
"We have the most loyal fans," actor Danny Masterson told A Plus. "So I'm excited to take one for the team by wearing grunge '90s fashion for them."
FOX still hasn't confirmed if the show's name will be changed to "That '90s Show," but Gary Newman, chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group, explained the strategy in a press release,
"We're initially airing 6 episodes. If we attract the ratings we're looking for, we'll explore our options for a longer commitment."
Real-life couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher will both be reprising their roles in the new season.
"It's pretty rare for such a large cast to agree to a reunion," Kunis told A Plus. "But we're so excited it's happening."
Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama have all signed up for feature roles while Laura Prepon has confirmed a minimum of four guest appearances.
And of course Kitty and Red will be back, dumb-ass.
Watch out for the new season of "That '70s Show" when it premieres in summer 2015.
