Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson have been friends for a long time, ever since their days starring together on That '70s Show. It should come as no surprise, then, that the two are reuniting a decade after that series ended in Netflix's The Ranch as two brothers trying to run their Colorado family ranching business.
Kutcher appeared on Ellen the other night in part to promote the show, which debuts April 1, but more importantly to promote a cause he cares greatly about. Thorn, in his words, is "the digital defender of children," and its mission is to drive the development of software tools that help fight the sexual exploitation of kids. After hearing Kutcher explain that initiative, Ellen told him the broadcast network Chideo would be willing to donate $10,000 to it if he was willing to sacrifice his ego just a little bit.
Enter Masterson, who apparently was told by Ellen he'd get to pie his good friend in the face. Turns out he was set up, though: he was just as at-risk for pie-face as Kutcher. Standing behind cutouts with pies rigged right below, the two were quizzed on recent pop culture happenings, and a wrong answer led to ... well, you know.
