Not necessarily. A consistently poor diet will introduce large amounts of sugars and saturated fats, which can have a profound effect on the body. Additionally, missing out on the nutrients from healthier foods could create long-term problems due to those deficiencies. 

Clearly, having a healthy diet is important.

But is it OK to skip the gym as long as someone is eating right? 

Exercise is connected to better sleep, cardiovascular health, and even better mental health. It also boosts energy, improves sleep at night, and even helps keep things spicy in the bedroom

Even aside from using it to maintain weight, exercise is crucial.
