Our brains have to deal with a tremendous amount of sensory input all day, and it can be a little overwhelming to process all of that information. To make the job easier and interpret our environment faster, we learn shortcuts based on previous experience.
This works out well for the most part, but sometimes what we think we see isn't exactly what's in front of us. Intentionally taking advantage of those shortcut failures is how we get optical illusions.
AsapSCIENCE has created an optical illusion using color, allowing us to see colors that aren't really on the screen. Even once they explain what's going on, they go one step further to show that nothing is ever as it seems.
Ready to see if you can pass the color test?
