Artist Hilariously Reimagines Sexist Spider-Woman Cover

Back to the drawing board

Among the covers that Marvel Comics solicited from for its upcoming Spider-Woman #1 was this variant by artist and comic book writer Milo Manara. The cover angered a number of people who felt that it was sexually exploitative and perpetuated the overt sexualiation of women in comic books.

So Jill Pantozzi, Managing Editor of the online magazine The Mary Sue, decided to take this cover back to the drawing board and create her own variants. Scroll down to see some of her antic visual commentaries.
