17 Comics That Show What It's Really Like To Be In A Long-Term Relationship

Grand romantic gestures are the stuff of fairytales.

With so many big, bold, and seemingly perfect relationships depicted in films and TV shows, it's no wonder so many people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to love. Luckily, we can look to other forms of art to see what real relationships look like. Many illustrators use their experiences with their significant others as inspiration for their work

Twenty-two-year-old Meg Quinn is one such artist whose comics depicting relationships are so much more relatable than what we see on the silver screen. The Seattle-based illustrator often draws moments from her and her now fiancé's life together. The comics don't showcase grand romantic gestures, but they show the funny, sometimes mundane, and totally real sides of being in a long-term relationship.

From helping each other with frustrating problems, to suffering terrible hangovers together, to getting way more comfortable about bowel movements around one another, Quinn's comics will make anyone who's in a long-term relationship say, "same."

Quinn shares her comics on her Instagram page titled ArtByMoga. "ArtbyMoga is a slice of life comics series based off my day-to-day experiences with the simple goal of bringing some positivity and humor to my reader's days," Quinn wrote on her website
