Talk about the Apple Watch 2 has started to heat up, as new features, release dates and advances in the wearable technology industry hit the rumor mill.
The second installment of the Apple Watch will allegedly hit stores in March or April 2016, according to a tipster close to the smartphone watch's development. The second generation watch is expected to address many of the initial bugs that the troubled first Apple Watch product.
Will the Apple Watch 2 be waterproof?
One of the other main gripes with the original Apple Watch was a full waterproof model. There have been some inklings of a water-resistant offering for full use in the shower and swimming pool, but not formally announced yet. We have to figure that a water-resistant smartwatch is a high priority product feature for Apple.
From a cosmetic standpoint, the biggest potential change to the watch has to be offering a model with a circular face alongside its current rectangular model. With competitors propping up circular models, such as the Samsung Gear S2 and the LG Watch, Apple wants to get into this space and capture the market.
The most likely feature added to the watch will be IP certification, which will be instrumental for secure Internet access on a continual basis. This addition is a step in the right direction toward Tim Cook's vision: "The Apple Watch is the most personal device we've ever created, it's not just on you, it's with you."
