You May Be Having A Conversation With An Android Sooner Than You Think

Can artificial life really be called 'life?'

This intriguing video, posted by the UK edition of The IB Times on YouTube, provides a glimpse at humanoids being created in Japan. The androids, robots that look eerily similar to humans, shown here were built in preparation for a permanent exhibition at The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) called "Android: What Is Human?"

The starkly-produced ending of the video raises that question in an eerily clinical way, leaving it to viewers to consider it for themselves.

The exhibit features various Androids that interact with the public, shown in the video by Reuters below.

The androids don't have everyone quite as enthusiastic as the visitors shown above at the Tokyo Design Expo.

Tesla Motors CEO and tech guru Elon Musk has expressed his concerns over artificial intelligence. In an interview with CNBC, Musk noted that, "there have been movies about this, you know, like 'Terminator.' There are some scary outcomes. And we should try to make sure the outcomes are good, not bad."

For now, it's not still not clear what role these artificial humans will play in our lives...or what role we might end up playing in theirs.

Please share this with your (human) friends.
