It's been a great season so far for young female vocalists on America's Got Talent.
Last week, 13-year-old opera singer Laura Bretan blew the judges away with her stunning voice. This week, 12-year-old Grace VanderWaal stole the show with her ukulele.
When asked by Simon Cowell if she thinks she can win, Grace responded, "Miracles can happen, so possibly." However, based on the amazing talent she displayed in her audition, it doesn't look like a miracle will be necessary — she can win this competition all on her own.
Instead of going the expected route and singing an existing tune, Grace chose to perform an original song called "I Don't Know My Name." Her folksy style and sincere lyrics earned her a standing ovation from the judges and the crowd.
Judge Howie Mandel drew on the title of Grace's song in his critique, telling her, "I think the world is gonna know your name." Then he slammed the golden buzzer, automatically sending her into the next round of live shows.
As Grace celebrated with her family, Simon chimed in to give her an incredible compliment, especially coming from someone so notoriously tough: "Grace, you know what I predict for you? I think you are the next Taylor Swift."
