This Video Of An Artist Painting On Water Left Us Speechless

Mesmerizing and beautiful.

Ebru art, also known as "paper marbling," is an ancient Turkish art form that involves depositing drops of colored, oil-based ink on the surface of water and swirling the ink around to make patterns.

These patterns are then transferred to paper—as was frequently done to make old-fashioned book bindings—creating a hard copy of the ephemeral aquatic designs.

This video shows Turkish Ebru master Garip Ay creating a series of stunning designs using a mere six droplets of paint.
