When we first discovered Alice Kristiansen on YouTube last year, we had a pretty good feeling that her electrifying, stripped-down cover of Taylor Swift's "Wildest Dreams" was going to be a hit with our audience.
And it was, collecting more than 37,000 likes and amassing 2.7 million views on YouTube.
Fortunately, Alice didn't lose sight of her music, posting more videos and working on her own material, while keeping touch with the fans that kept her going.
She realized that she had a very rare opportunity and she seized it.
"I definitely started taking my music career more seriously," she told us in an interview. "I had never thought before that I could actually have a career in music, and after Ashton posted that video I started getting a lot more attention from labels and so many opportunities opened up for me that I had never imagined before!"
Her work and timing paid off.
Alice just released a debut video for an original song, 'Moon And Back.'
We're happy to premiere it for you today.
"We haven't started working on a full album yet," she tells us, "but I have lots of songs I've written over the last year that will be released as singles in 2016. I'm so thankful for the attention I've been getting with my music — I can't imagine where I'd be without it!"
