We all have that goal we say we're going to accomplish one day, but push aside to accommodate other things. For Alex Pawlowska, that goal was to travel with her mom, Halina. After a death in the family, Alex realized she and her mom weren't going to be around forever, and that she should stop putting off the travel plans.
She decided that the time is now to accomplish her goal of a mother-daughter traveling adventure.
The Polish Instagrammer explained in a post, "It is my responsibility to live my life to the fullest and do things I always dreamt of NOW." So, she took a month off of work so she could travel across the United States with her 63-year-old mom. The duo traveled from New York to Los Angeles and hit many of the major landmarks.
Along they way, they spoke with inspirational people who are helping to make a difference as part of Pawlowska's Looking For Heroes project.
It wasn't just the strangers they met on the trip that Pawlowska learned valuable lessons from. Pawlowska also learned some great lessons from her mom. She posted one on Instagram (above) about the value of continuing to grow, no matter what your age.
"My advice to young people would be to learn. Because this is what will be your biggest asset in life. The most important thing is to keep growing."
She added, "With age you stop worrying about things that don't matter and you grow out of your insecurities. Your priorities change, family and health become the most important."
The trip across the America was a brilliant learning experience for both mother and daughter. Not only did they get to immerse themselves in different cultures and surroundings, they also got to learn even more about each other while cherishing their time together.
