"American Horror Story: Hotel," the latest season of the the creepy Ryan Murphy-created horror show, just announced its newest guest. "New Girl" star Max Greenfield will check into "AHS: Hotel" this year. The show's premiere is still four months away, so right now there isn't too much information on Greenfield's "AHS" character. All the info we have so far is contained in this perfectly spooky tweet Murphy sent out on Monday to reveal his latest casting news: "This October, Max Greenfield (like you've never seen him) is checking in to the hotel….but not checking out. #AHSHotel." We already know that Chloe Sevigny, Lady Gaga, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett will all be appearing in the season as well. That is some cast.
Greenfield's current role, as Schmidt on "New Girl," isn't exactly scary. Schmidt is more of a bumbling, good-natured (but utterly inept) idiot. Murphy's tweet seems to indicate that Greenfield's character will be a victim, not a villain, on the show, which means there's a good chance Greenfield will be killed off at some point (as tends to happen with the majority of "AHS" characters). We don't know how long his part will last, but an appearance of any length is bound to stir up plenty of talk, online and off. Actors who snag a role in one season of "AHS" are also frequently asked to return to the show in the future, so this might be just the beginning of a long "AHS" career for the actor.
