It's no secret that creating a winged look with liquid or gel eyeliner can be incredibly tricky. With just one slip, the eyeliner can get all over your eyelid and, for some reason, the wings never seem to match up.
That said, people everywhere have been wondering how does Adele get her eyeliner so perfect? Magic? Photoshop? Nope.
The answer lies with one very talented makeup artist, Michael Ashton, who's been masterfully creating Adele's signature hair and makeup looks for nine years.
Now, in a guest appearance on celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge's YouTube channel, Ashton finally releases his tips, tricks, and favorite products so that we too can accomplish Adele's look.
First, Ashton, applies a few base products to the eyelids, including the lighter colors from a Tom Ford eye shadow palette. Mixed together, Ashton explains that the gold and bronze hues create an "expensive looking finish."
Then, Ashton uses Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in black ink to get that coveted wing. First, he applies the product to the back of his hand to make it easier to work with.
Then, he starts at the inner middle corner of the eye and moves outwards to build up the wing's thickness.
Pro tips? Ashton stretches out the eyelid to avoid creasing and works as closely to the lash line as possible. Then, taking pressure off the brush, he swipes towards the temple to get a soft flick of the wing.
Throughout the rest of the video, Ashton adds lashes and finishing touches to the eyes before moving on to complete a full face of makeup.
So if we can look like Adele does that mean we can sound like her, too?
