People have been calling on the fashion industry to be more diverse and inclusive. The recent shows at New York Fashion Week have heard the message and they're taking action. One brand at the forefront of the change is Addition Elle.
The plus-size retailer presented its latest collection for the second time at the tents and championed fashion democracy.
All of the looks were stunning, but it was the runway debut of Addition Elle's "F* This" campaign that created the biggest impact.
Models wore t-shirts with "What The F*" and "F* This" printed in bold letters across the front. The campaign's tagline is "Feel this. Flaunt this. Fashion this." InStyle reported that the campaign calls for the fashion industry to become more inclusive, particularly to plus-size women. It wants women to have full access to the clothing styles available and for them to feel confident in wearing them.
Ashley Graham told Fashionista backstage at the show about the body positive movements happening in fashion,
"It's not about talk about anymore, it’s about action."
Addition Elle is clearly taking action and so are other brands. Iskra Lawrence made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week and Christian Siriano made headlines for features a diverse group of models in his show. The message from all of them is that inclusivity is one of the best things you can see on the runway.
