Surreal Photographs That Will Hurt Your Brain

You'll do a double-take every time.

Germany-based photographer Erik Johansson has a unique way of turning the world on its head. His talent of retouching photographs to create surreal images makes the ordinary, extraordinary, and the banal, magical.

Whether it's a photo of a woman walking her dog, a person hanging their laundry on a clothesline or just a picture of a bedroom, somehow Johansson finds a way to make the scene look mind-boggling and confusing.

"Every new project is a new challenge and the goal is to realize it as realistically as possible," he says on his website.
