Christian Vieler from Waltrop, Germany has an eye for capturing animals' unique expressions through the lens of his camera. According to Bored Panda, the 45-year-old photographer and journalist likes to portray an animals' emotions like excitement, sadness or confusion.
And one particularly good way to get a dog to show his true colors, is to give him food. So Vieler tosses dogs treats and then snaps a photo of them at the exact moment they are trying to catch the food in their mouths. The result is both hilarious and beautiful, as you can see just how much personality dogs really do have.
"Every shoot I am looking for that specific moment when the dog is looking as cute or funny as they can be," Vieler told Bored Panda. "That cannot be seen without the power of freezing motion — dogs' faces with magnificent lineaments, telling us stories of panic, desire and joy."
