When it was announced that the Supreme Court struck down Texas' restrictive abortion law on Monday, abortion rights activists breathed a sigh of relief. The law placed requirements on abortion clinics and on doctors performing the procedure that the court ultimately decided placed "undue burden on abortion access."
Many called it the most significant win for abortion rights and women's healthcare since Roe v. Wade. While it will take years to re-open all the clinics that the law shuttered in the past two years, the ecstatic responses on social media showed just how much was at stake for American women had the court ruled otherwise.
