The responsibilities that come with raising a child always come at the cost of sacrificing certain aspects of adult life that existed before parenthood. But to be a single parent often means those aspects — leisure time and freedom of movement among them — are further reduced simply by dint of the fact that one person finds him or herself doing a job that is really best done by two people.
To speak to some of these challenges, single parents have taken to the Whisper App, an online platform where users can anonymously post their stories. Previously, we've highlighted the Whisper confessions of single mothers discussing their struggles and challenges, and the confessions of those affected by divorce, growing up between homes or with single parents.
Now, we will share the stories of single dads who are back on the dating scene: the stereotypes that they face, the assumptions that people have, and the struggle of returning to the dating pool with what many might consider baggage. These guy reveal those things and more, assuring that their vulnerabilities could be articulated with the honesty that anonymity so often affords.
