This Video Highlights 100 Years Of Girls' Fashion Trends — And A Very Important Message

"Because who I am is what I do."

From dainty dresses, to color-blocked knits, and baseball tees with jeans, the fashion styles popular among young girls have drastically changed throughout the years.

In a video for Lammily, the company responsible for fashion dolls with standard human body proportions, a young dancer shows off her best moves while transitioning fashion looks from the 1900s through today.

Her outfits include flapper-inspired dresses from the '20s, high socks and headbands from the '60s, and bright florals from the '90s, among other trends and styles.

But the presentation isn't just about the fashion.

At the end of the video, the girl stops and looks directly into the camera, explaining:

"For the past 100 years, girls like me get their confidence from passion in what they do. I don't care if I don't look perfect. Because who I am is what I do."

From there, the video showcases the girl's own style as she flips, kicks, and spins through some super strong dance moves.

Every young girl needs to see this.
